To order a translation from English to Russian
or to clarify terms of service, please e-mail me
to translation@sivokon.ru.
But first of all, I would suggest that you take
a look at the description of services
and prices.
To receive a fast and accurate quotation and timeframe
estimate,
you should attach the text
you want me to translate to your original
e-mail. Otherwise, I may have to write back to
you in order to find out how big the text is, what
is its subject matter, etc. If you don't have the
text but think that it must be easily available
in Russian press or in the Internet (e.g. a Russian
legal act, or a news item) you can state so in
your e-mail, providing the name of the document,
and I'll see if I can obtain a copy. If, for some
reason, you cannot attach the text, please at least
indicate its size (number of words) and subject
matter.
It would also help if you indicate the intended
target audience of the translation and its intended
use. It might be necessary for correct selection
of style and register of the translation, and may
be important for other reasons as well: for example,
if I translate a video film, it is crucial to know
if the film is supposed to be dubbed or subtitled,
since the translation formats and requirements
for dubbing (or voice-over) and subtitling are
completely different. If the text is going to be
translated into English, please also indicate
the preferred variant of spelling (e.g. British
or USA).
If you don't have the data, or if you are
not sure whether I'm the right man for you, feel
free to write and ask anyway. Perhaps I'll be able
to help you, and if not, well, there is no harm
in asking.
